***ABOUT PARIS (Part 2)***

Bon Jour Everyone!!!

***How Small Was Paris***
When we arrived in Bercy, Paris, we checked into the hotel and was traumatized at how micro-mini our room was, no for real ya'll. My roommate (It Just Ain’t Right, Sierra) and I had two twin beds. Count them (2), that would be one a piece. And the room was as big as a jail cell (don't ask, how I know this). I felt like I was on I LOVE LUCY. The bathrooms were even small compared to the Marriott's and Hilton's in the states.

I will say, we had a great view of Paris from our room and the twin beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also, kind of neat, so I guess good things do come in small packages.

***FAT ADULTS/CHILDREN***
They do not have FAT people in Paris. I think it is FORBIDDEN. LOL.

***Paris Money***
There 2 cent and 5 cent euros are in copper like the American penny but the 2cent Euro is extremely small, sort of like a miniature button and the 5cent Euro is the same size as our pennies.
The theme here is that the Euro dollar is much powerful than the American dollar. Go figure.

Oh!! Did I mention that a studio flat cost about on average about $169,000 Euro...I’ll let you’ll figure out the cost in American dollars, but it's not at all bad.

One thing you do have to worry about, while in Paris, is to make sure that when you convert your money, you go to a reputable cash converter store. I got ripped off my third not in Paris.
How??? I gave the lady who converts money a $100 dollars in American money and she gave me back $60 Euros, you do the math. In all actuality, I should have gotten at least $74 back.

***Education***
Higher Education is totally FREE in Paris, please expose your kids to these Great possibilities now, so when they get older they can experience another culture and get a free education....all I am saying is, this is definitely worth researching.

***What I enjoyed about Paris***
I enjoyed catching the Metro (we call it a train at home, but don't you dare say that while in Paris...they won't know what the hell your talking about). Man, oh man, this Metro is Johnny on the spot. You never find yourself looking down the train tracks for the train. I mean as soon as you get ready to sit down the train is there. As soon as you use your ticket to go through the cowboy like bar push door turn styles, the train is there. You get the picture. Parisians using the Metro think there moving fast, but being a Jersey girl who has been going to the city since..... a young kid, they move slowly to me.

Parisians move fast (slow) and quietly compared to the Big Apple.

***FOOD***
Parisians love there bread. You will find them eating a single long stem piece of bread on the train, the way we eat pretzels, and yet they are not obese. That was awkward and funny to see.

The best meal that I had there was there goat cheese salad (Paris is famous for this salad). The salad was a combination of mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, beats (some places), toasted squared French baguette bread with garlic and oil with goat cheese positioned every so perfectly around the salad (you get about 4) with thinly sliced freshly fried potatoes (Portuguese style) in a light mustard vinaigrette sauce. YUM…YUM.. I GOT FOOD IN MY TUMMY…LOL

***LOVE IN PARIS***
No everyone, I did not meet my John Claude or Pierre. It seems they only dig skinny chicks and right now, the only thing that would be considered skinny on me are my fingers and some may laugh at that. I say, the hell with you. LOL.
Shut up Ashbey!!! I am working on it. Yes, STILL!!!!

However, my second morning in Paris, I did jog up the wonderful river bank, where I ran pass a couple of a certain age, dressed corporately for work, playing around in a sweet flirtatious manner and kissing each other, right smack dead in the morning. That was special for me to see, being single and all. No, I am not a goddamn voyeur.

I also witnessed a Latin couple (yes, Latin!!!) while on my way to Les Halles, Paris kissing in the Metro station (the type of kissing that people in America would say get a room… but in Paris it’s the norm). How great is that??? People freely show there affection. WOW!!! You don’t see that in the states anymore.

***ARRIVING TO PARIS***

First, let me start off by apologizing to those people who I told to read my blog while I was away in Paris...namely Waheed :-0 ).

Anyway, the plane ride to Paris was slighty bumpy, in such a way that I felt frightened for my life. This statement comes from someone who has flown several times, but not out of the country.

I was lucky and was seated next to a nice African young man, who attends Conneticut University. Ironically, he was from Nigeria. He is the fourth Nigerian that I have met in the last year and a half.

So, when we landed, I was the happiest American alive. It seems that I became ill from the vegetarian pasta and so did three other Paris Travelearn students.
